World Cup 2014
Brazil hosted a successful 2014 FIFA World Cup across 12 cities, with a national level of security coordination in both Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia.
As part of the design and delivery of this vital security architecture, there was a requirement to assess national policing and security capabilities across the 12 states and their host cities. This resulted in the writing of a national Concept of Operations for FIFA World Cup policing and security command and control to ensure a national information exchange solution and a nationally consistent approach to policing and security operations.
These resilience, security and command and control solutions were also applied during the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games to support a safe and secure 2016 Olympic Games and also to provide a strategic legacy for Rio de Janeiro and enhanced public safety and security.
