Oil and Gas Crisis Management
Kuwait sits on the third largest oil and gas reserves in the world. In the face of increasing security threats from terrorism, civil disorder and regional conflict, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and the Kuwait Government reviewed its security preparedness and emergency response capabilities.
This review required the delivery of a capability audit of emergency preparation and response across Kuwait’s oil and gas sector. This resulted in the provision of a strategic concept for the development of a corporate command, coordination and communications (C3) architecture and a national level emergency co-ordination centre. The findings of this audit led to the design of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation’s C3 Emergency Coordination Centre, the information exchange architecture and the supporting technical systems.
